“A residential apartment at the Karama street along the Airport Road caught fire on 30 August 2010 Saturday afternoon. Nearly 30 families in the building were evacuated safely, while several cars parked nearby were destroyed in the blaze”
” A Boxford firefighter was injured after he fell off the department’s brush truck while battling a blaze that consumed roughly 25 acres of wooded land in North Andover Saturday.
Boxford Fire Chief Kerry Stickney said firefighter and EMT Jack Leary was operating brush 1, a 10-wheel, former military vehicle converted to fight brush fires, when he lost his balance and fell off the truck. Leary landed on his arm and required medical attention at the scene.
He was transported to Lawrence General Hospital and was treated for a broken collarbone. Stickney said he believes Leary will be out of work for roughly six to eight weeks.”
